Aljamain Sterling announces move to featherweight

Reigning UFC bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling plans to switch weight classes after he defends his title against Henry Cejudo.

The American informed fans about this on the social network, reacting to the news about the organization of the duel between Marlon Vera and Corey Sandhagen.

“Great fight, but Merab should have been a part of it. Still, great fight,” Sterling wrote before answering a fan’s question as to why he would want to see his friend Merab Dvalishvili in a potential Candidates match.

“Because I will rise up after I beat Henry,” said the UFC champion.

Recall that the title fight between Sterling and Cejudo has not yet been officially announced, and the fight between Vera and Sandhagen on February 18 will head the UFC Fight Night 219 tournament in Las Vegas.
