Russian fighter Ali Bagov, who won an early victory over Artem Reznikov in the quarterfinals of the ACA lightweight grand prix, explained who was intended for the obscene gesture, which he showed after the fight with the representative of Kazakhstan.
“I showed a couple of gestures after the fight on emotion, but it was me who showed my fans who came,” Bagov said in a post-fight interview. “Many wrote to me – he talks a lot, he should be punished, for our sake, for the sake of the republic. But this is a sporting interest – he also trains, plows, weight chases like me, so I respect all my opponents. People scold me now – why did you show it? But I didn’t show it to him, I showed it to my fans to close this case”
Recall that the fight between Ali Bagov and Artem Reznikov, which became the second most important event of the tournament ACA 168, ended in the fourth round with the victory of the Russian by technical knockout.
Bagov’s semifinal opponent will be Brazilian Herdeson Batista, who finished Mehdi Dakayev by technical knockout in the quarterfinals.
