Alexey Oleinik lost by knockout to Olya Thompson

Russian heavyweight Alexey Oleinik, who left the UFC in October last year after an eight-year run in the strongest league in the world, made an unsuccessful debut in the REN TV Fight Club, having suffered an early defeat in the confrontation with Briton Oli Thompson.

The fight, which became the second most important event of the show, ended at around 2:28 of the first round after Thompson knocked out Boa with a right hand. Until that moment, the British fighter acted confidently in the stance, was faster on his feet, and did not allow the Russian, who was not in the best shape, to transfer himself to the ground.

Having become the owner of the REN TV Fight Club title, Oli Thompson paid tribute to his eminent rival, however, he avoided a direct answer to the question of an immediate revenge with Alexei Oleinik.

“We will discuss revenge tomorrow, and today is my day,” the Briton said in a post-match interview.

Note that the fight did not have a professional status, so it will not be included in the heavyweight record.
