Alexander Usik offered Tyson Fury to vacate the title

Reigning WBA, IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight boxing champion, Alexander Usik, commented on the information that his unification fight with current WBC titleholder, Tyson Fury, has been postponed to early next year.

According to the Ukrainian, he knows nothing about the postponement of the fight, and signed a contract for the fight, which has a specific date – December 23.

“Uncle Frank is saying some cowardly things,” Usik said in an interview with Boxing King Media. “We have a contract that says the fight should take place on December 23. Let Fury vacate the title and rest as long as he wants. Tyson, we have to fight. We have to do it on December 23rd. See you in the ring!”

Earlier, the postponement of the world title fight was announced by the promoter of “The Gypsy King”, Frank Warren, who stated that his charge would not have time in two months to recover from his tough fight against Francis Ngannou.

The British boxer nearly suffered a sensational defeat last weekend, controversially defeating the former UFC champion by split decision after ten rounds, with a knockdown in the third round.
