Alexander Shlemenko defeated Alexander Ilic early on

Sixteen months after his sensational loss to Alexander Ilic, former Bellator middleweight champion Alexander Shlemenko took a convincing rematch with “The Joker” by defeating the Serbian early at RCC 17 in Yekaterinburg, Russia.

The bout, which headlined the event, ended at the 4:51 mark of the first round after the Russian once again outworked his opponent and began hitting powerful hammerfists, while Ilic, after missing several punches, went into a deafening defense and forced referee Vyacheslav Kiselev to stop the fight.

Throughout the first round, “Storm” lived up to his nickname, demolishing the Serbian fighter in the standup and then wrecking him in the parterre.

Also at the event, Russian Maxim Grishin and Alexey Oleinik, who recently left the UFC roster, won victories.

“Maximus” defeated Kazakhstan’s Asylzhan Bakytzhanuly by unanimous decision over three rounds, while “Udav” finished Brazilian Fernando Rodriguez by arm-triangle choke in the second round.
