The fight will take place on August 21 in Salt Lake City (Utah, USA) at the Vivint Arena and will be the main one in the preliminary card of the UFC 278 PPV tournament. The estimated start of the fight is 04:30 Kyiv time. The fight will be broadcast live on Setanta Sports.
#13 UFC heavyweight Alexander Romanov (16-0) will fight #11 Marcin Tybura (22-7).
Undefeated Romanov in the UFC finished all five opponents. The fighter from Moldova had his last fight in April, winning Chase Sherman by submission in the first round.
Tybura was on a five win streak until his last fight, during which he beat Sergei Spivak, Maxim Grishin, Ben Rothwell, Greg Hardy and Walt Harris. But in October at UFC 267, the Pole lost by unanimous decision to Alexander Volkov.
Prediction for the fight
Romanov is used to declassing opponents on the ground, but Tybura’s strength is grappling, with a grappler of this level, “King Kong” has not yet met in the cage.
When two good wrestlers fight, they often fight standing up. This time it could be just that. Romanov and Tybura are not particularly skilled drummers with heavy hands. We will probably see all three rounds. Tybura is still a more subtle and technical striker, but Romanov, due to his power, can convince the judges to give him the victory.
