Alexander Emelianenko Returns to Fighting

Popular Russian heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko will fight three bouts under the Ural FC league banner, signing the biggest contract of his professional career.

About it in an interview “Match TV” reported the fighter’s manager, Nikita Burchak.

“We signed a contract for three fights in Ural FC with the possibility of further prolongation depending on the performances and condition of Alexander,” said Burchak. “It is clear that the moment with Emelianenko’s conditioning was discussed separately.”

“The negotiations we had were long, and they went on for about a year. This is one of the largest contracts in the history of Russian martial arts and the largest in Alexander’s career. Naturally, I can’t tell you the details. The announcement of the first fight in the league will happen very soon”

This information was confirmed in their social networks by representatives of the league, as well as the fighter himself.

Alexander Emelianenko’s last fight was in May last year on another show of “REN TV Fight Club”, finishing blogger Evgeny Ershov with a kimura in the second round. At the same time, the 42-year-old heavyweight was in poor physical shape, could barely move, and in the first round, in fact, lost the fight by technical knockout, however, the referee allowed him to recover and continue the meeting.

Shortly after the fight, the fighter went to the Iman rehabilitation center in Ingushetia, where he was treated for seven months for alcohol addiction and rumored to have converted to Islam.
