Popular Russian heavyweight Alexander Emelianenko addressed the current UFC heavyweight champion, Jon Jones, who called him one of his favorite fighters and sent his regards through his brother Fedor.
“Jon Jones, I got your regards. I send you my fiery greetings from Russia. It’s very nice that you’re watching me,” Emelianenko wrote on social media.
Jon Jones and Fedor Emelianenko met at the joint Bellator and PFL tournament in Riyadh, where the American was present as a guest of honor and the legendary Russian was securing his student Vadim Nemkov, who successfully made his heavyweight debut by finishing former PFL champion Bruno Cappelozza with a choke.
Alexander Emelianenko, who spent most of last year undergoing treatment for alcohol addiction, signed a contract with the Ural FC league in January of this year, under whose banner he plans to resume his career as a fighter.
