Alexander Emelianenko made a statement about his religion

After numerous rumors that Alexander Emelianenko has converted to Islam, the Russian heavyweight has set the record straight about what religion he adheres to.

To that end, the fighter published a joint video with Umar Kremlev, saying he was going to work on restoring an Orthodox church.

“The Temple of St. John the Baptist. I, as a true Christian, believe that I should and am obliged to help in the restoration of the temple for all Christians and those who wish to pray in it,” the heavyweight said, blessing himself with the sign of the cross. “Believe the Holy Scriptures, not rumors.”

Information about Alexander Emelianenko’s conversion to Islam became actively discussed after the heavyweight, who was treated for six months for alcohol addiction in one of the rehabilitation centers in Ingushetia, visited places sacred to Muslims, and also reported that he would not mind taking the name Abubakar.

At the same time, the head coach of the Universal Fighters club, Rasul Magomedaliyev, directly stated that Emelianenko had become a practicing Muslim.

Two days earlier it became known that Alexander Emelianenko signed a contract with the league Ural FC, where he will hold three fights.
