Alex Volkanovski told his daughter’s joke about Islam Makhachev

Reigning UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski, who lost an early decision to Islam Makhachev in his previous fight, revealed that this defeat is cause for jokes in his own family.

In another video published on his Youtube channel, the Australian relayed a conversation with his daughter, who asked him what he would do if someone broke into their home.

“I replied, ‘No one’s going to break in, it’s fine – I’m here and I’m a world champion. Don’t worry – I’ll deal with it,’ and she says, ‘What if it’s Islam Makhachev?”,” Volkanovski recounted.

Last October, Alexander Volkanovski accepted a fight with Islam Makhachev on short notice and lost by knockout to the reigning UFC lightweight champion as early as the first round, missing a leg kick to the head.

The Australian will try to get his career back on track this weekend at UFC 298 in Anaheim, where he will go on the road to defend his championship belt against Elijah Topuria in the main event.
