Alex Pereira will face Israel Adesanya in a clash with the Middleweight Title up for grabs at the UFC 287 main event on April 8..
The rematch was announced by Dana White, president of UFC on Friday.
In the UFC 287 cards, Pereira vs. Adesanya also feature a special attraction for welterweight as Gilbert Burns invites Jorge Masvidal to return to the sport after more than one year.
The main event see Pereira make his first title defense after a stunning fifth-round comeback to knock out Adesanya in their first MMA encounter this past November. Pereira previously held two wins over Adesanya in kickboxing, including a vicious knockout in their second fight, which then set the stage for their showdown in the UFC.
Pereira is determined to continue his unbeaten run against Adesanya while “The Last Stylebender,” seeks revenge against Adesanya, who was the one to lose him at the UFC’s middleweight division.
Burns now has the opportunity to meet Masvidal, after both welterweights requested the bout in interviews this year.
They’ll look to settle their differences in April.
Second fight: UFC 287, Welterweights Kevin Holland, Santiago Ponzinibbio and Raul Rosas Jr. will clash on the maincard. Rob Font and Christian Rodriguez will take on Adrian Yanez.
