Alex Pereira and Israel Adesanya’s principled showdown took on an amusing twist when the former and current UFC middleweight champions met by chance at Melbourne airport.
The fighters were friendly to each other, and did not miss the opportunity to beat this situation with humor.
“Guess who I met,” the Brazilian commented on the video posted on social media.
“My life is a video game,” Adesanya wrote in a comment on his video.
Last November, Alex Pereira took the UFC championship belt away from Israel Adesanya, finishing the Nigerian by TKO in the fifth round, and last month Adesanya took a convincing revenge by knocking out the Brazilian in the second five-minute period.
Before sharing the octagon with Adesanya, Pereira defeated him twice in kickboxing fights, sending him to a deaf knockout once.
Two months later, Alex Pereira will make his light heavyweight debut against Poland’s Jan Blachowicz, while Israel Adesanya will face the winner of the challenger’s bout between Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis in September.
