Alex Pereira demands completion of trilogy with Israel Adesanya

Former UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira, who has announced a move to the light heavyweight division, is poised to stay in the division to complete a seminal trilogy with reigning title holder Israel Adesanya.

Earlier, the Nigerian, who knocked out the Brazilian in an immediate rematch, said that his victory surpasses all three of his opponent’s previous successes in quality, and Pereira offers a third fight in MMA, which will put an end to this confrontation.

“Knocked out in kickboxing, and then helped to lie down on a stretcher; won by decision; won by TKO in the UFC – this is more quality than in one knockout in the UFC, ”Pereira wrote on the social network, posting a photo of Adesanya lying in the knockout.

“In kickboxing, you can no longer be better than me. In MMA we have 1:1. Be honest with your fans and let’s show the world who is the best in MMA,” he added.

It should be noted that even the day before, the Brazilian fighter indicated potential rivals in the light heavyweight category, mentioning the current champion Jamal Hill, as well as Magomed Ankalaev and Jan Blakhovic, who occupy the second and third positions in the division, respectively.

According to the UFC plan, Israel Adesanya’s next opponent should be in a Candidates bout between Robert Whittaker and Dricus Du Plessis, but if Alex Pereira stays in middleweight, the end of the title trilogy is the most likely scenario.
