The current UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira, is ready to move up to the light heavyweight division to fight Jamal Hill, who promised to knock him out in a superfight.
“I heard Prochazka is injured. So how about knocking me out? ”, The Brazilian wrote on a social network, referring to a potential opponent.
“We can do it,” the American replied in the next edition of the MMA Hour program. “If he wants to try his luck, let him come. I’m not running from anyone and I’m not afraid of anyone. And I take challenges very seriously – it gives me an extra incentive to fuck the one who dumped him. Yes, I said I would knock him out and I will. I think he has the same thoughts about it.”
This past weekend at UFC 283 in Rio de Janeiro, Jamal Hill defeated Alex Pereira’s friend and sparring partner Glover Teixeira via unanimous decision to capture the vacant UFC Light Heavyweight Championship vacated by the injured Jiri Prochazka.
Alex Pereira fought his last fight last November at UFC 281 in New York, finishing with a fifth-round technical knockout of Israel Adesanyu to take the Nigerian’s UFC middleweight championship belt.
