Aleksandar Rakic accepted Jiri Prohazka’s condition

Aleksandar Rakic, who lost the fight due to Jan Blachowicz’s injury, is ready to perform a month later and face Jiri Prohazka, who agreed to replace the Pole on condition that the fight will be postponed to a later date.

“Yes, let’s do it on February 17 in Anaheim,” the Austrian fighter replied to the Czech.

Rakic and Blachowicz were scheduled to fight on Jan. 20 at UFC 297 in Toronto, and UFC 298 will take place in Anaheim on Feb. 17, headlined by a featherweight title fight between Alexander Volkanovski and Elijah Topuria.

Last May, Aleksandar Rakic was unable to continue his fight with Jan Blachowicz after suffering a third-round knee injury and has not returned to the octagon since, while Jiri Prochazka made an unsuccessful attempt to reclaim his championship belt a month ago, losing by second-round technical knockout to Alex Pereira at UFC 295 in New York.

Jiri Prohazka and Aleksandar Rakic are currently ranked second and fifth in the UFC’s flyweight division rankings, respectively.
