Aljamain Sterling has agreed to fight Movsar Yevloyev

Former UFC featherweight champion Aljamain Sterling will make his next fight against Russian Movsar Yevloyev, who rounds out the top five of the organization’s featherweight division.

The American announced this on social networks, publishing the corresponding video.

“Another one. The most boring fighter in the UFC. I’m going after him. I’ll get my title shot after this one,” Sterling stated.

“It was not a good idea to come to my division,” the Russian fighter wrote in a comment.

In a recent interview, Yevloev revealed that the UFC is interested in the fight and that he has already agreed to the fight, however, Sterling has made it clear that he is more interested in facing the number three ranked fighter, Brian Ortega.

Aljamain Sterling made a successful welterweight debut in April, defeating fellow countryman Kelvin Kattar by unanimous decision at UFC 300 in Las Vegas to move into the eighth position in the division.

Undefeated Movsar Yevloyev picked up his eighth UFC win in January with a unanimous decision over Brit Arnold Allen.

There is no information yet on when the bout between the top welterweights will take place.
