Usik on Fury’s size: “If size mattered, the king of beasts would be the elephant”

Reigning IBF, WBA, WBO and IBO heavyweight boxing champion Alexander Usik considers Tyson Fury his most difficult opponent, but he doesn’t think that a significant difference in size will be a significant factor in the upcoming fight.

“Yes, Tyson Fury is the most difficult opponent in my career,” Usik said in a pre-match interview. “He’s strong, he’s big. He’s very big, but size doesn’t matter. If size mattered, the king of beasts would be the elephant. Skills and psychological toughness are much more important than size”

Earlier, the British boxer, who holds the WBC championship belt, said that if he defeats the Ukrainian, he will become the greatest heavyweight in the history of professional boxing.

Recall that the unification fight between Tyson Fury and Alexander Usik, the winner of which will be declared the absolute world heavyweight boxing champion, will take place on May 18 in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
