Anatoly Malykhin, who last weekend became the first triple champion in the history of mixed martial arts, reacted to the statement of Georgian fighter Merab Dvalishvili, who again claimed that the Russian does not pay him back for the lost dispute of two years ago.
“He has my number, according to the contract everything is being fulfilled,” he said in the interview “Match TV” ONE’s reigning middleweight, bantamweight and heavyweight champion. “He makes noise every time, he catches the wave on purpose. I texted him right away, ‘Everything’s being fulfilled, what do you want me to do, start transferring fifty cents each?’ And he kept quiet.”
“It’s not nice of him. We have an agreement, it is being fulfilled. A thousand or two, a thousand or two are transferred to him. From the moment we agreed, money is transferred to him. Before that, he used to say that I don’t transfer anything to him. I don’t like that very much. But it’s all right. Somewhere life will bring us together. We’ll sit down and talk
Two days earlier, Dvalishvili revealed that he still hadn’t received most of the money the Russian lost to Malykhin two years ago when he bet on a Peter Yan vs. Aljamain Sterling rematch, and demanded that the ONE Triple Crown champion pay him back the $39,000 he owed him.
Last week, Anatoly Malykhin defeated Dutchman Rainier de Ridder by third-round technical knockout to take the ONE middleweight championship belt from the Dutchman, while Merab Dvalishvili, ranked No. 1 in the UFC’s lightweight division, will insure a title fight between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera this weekend.
