UFC management called former champions who moved to Bellator scum

A new printout of correspondence between UFC head Dana White and the organization’s former owner Lorenzo Fertitta, released as part of an antitrust lawsuit against the world’s strongest league, shows that UFC executives did not think highly of their former champions who moved to Bellator.

In particular, White and Fertitta were extremely negative about the idea of Bellator organizing a fight between former UFC bantamweight titleholders Quinton “Rampage” Jackson and Tito Ortiz.

“I thought they didn’t pick up UFC scum,” Fertitta wrote.

“That’s Scott Coker’s method,” White replied. “He doesn’t build anybody up, right? He doesn’t turn anybody into a star. He’s just taking old names and recycling them one more time. He’s a very, very bad promoter.”

It should be noted that the bout between Rampage and Ortiz was never organized, and their last professional fights the American held in 2019, after which he announced the end of his career.

Earlier, a correspondence between Fertitta and White was published in which they discuss negotiations with Jon Jones, while being extremely insulting about one of the best fighters in the history of the organization.
