The fight for the title of absolute world boxing champion in the light heavyweight division between Dmitry Bivol and Artur Beterbiev has been officially approved and will take place on June 1 in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.
The Russian’s bout was officially announced in the next edition of the program “The MMA Hour” by the royal advisor and promoter of the fight Turki Alalsheikh, thus confirming the information voiced ten days ago by sources close to the situation.
Dmitry Bivol, 33, defended his WBA championship belt at the end of last year and also took the IBO title by defeating Britain’s Lyndon Arthur by unanimous decision over twelve rounds at a boxing night in Riyadh.
Artur Beterbiev, 39, successfully defended his WBC, IBF and WBO titles three weeks ago with an early win over Britain’s Callum Smith, whose corner refused to continue the fight in the seventh round.
