Former UFC bantamweight champion Carla Esparza is no longer a fighter in the world’s strongest league.
The American’s dismissal was reported by informed sources close to the situation. This news is confirmed by the absence of the former UFC titleholder in the updated rankings of the organization.
In May 2022, Carla Esparza took the UFC championship belt from Rose Namayunas, beating her compatriot by split decision over five rounds, but six months later she lost the title by rear-naked choke in the second round to China’s Weili Zhang.
Last March, the 36-year-old American announced her pregnancy, promising a return to the octagon in mid-2024.
