Roman Kopylov has been “forgotten” in the UFC

Russian UFC middleweight Roman Kopylov, who expected to get a contract for another fight before the New Year, still does not know when he will return to the octagon, and who will be his opponent.

“I am at the training camp in Makhachkala, waiting for the date and opponent,” Match TV quoted Kopylov as saying. “Already I want to come back. In the UFC, have forgotten about me, or what. I seem to try to show good and spectacular fights. I’m raring to fight, now waiting for the date, place and opponent”

Roman Kopylov, 32, began his run in the UFC in 2019 and suffered two straight losses, losing by rear-naked choke to Karl Roberson and unanimous decision to Albert Duraev, but the former Fight Nights Global champion has since reeled off four knockout victories, most recently finishing Josh Fremd in the second round.

Last month, Kopylov competed at the ACBJJ 15 jiu-jitsu tournament in St. Petersburg, Russia, losing by majority judge vote to his compatriot Magomed Ismailov.

The Russian fighter is not currently ranked in the top 15 of the organization’s middle division.
