Former UFC heavyweight titleholder Francis Ngannou, who will face former world boxing champion Anthony Joshua in two months, doesn’t think he and the Briton will have to spend all ten rounds in the ring.
“Most likely I will knockout Anthony Joshua,” the Cameroonian said on another edition of The MMA Hour program. “I think he’s easier to drop than Fury. My point is not that he’s a weak fighter. He’s a very tough fighter, but he’s easier to send to the canvas than Fury and he’s going to be harder to get up than Fury. If AJ misses the punch that Fury missed, I’m not sure he’ll get up. I’ve heard he doesn’t take a punch and I’m going to check that out.”
“The Predator” believes Joshua looked good in his previous fight against Otto Wallin, but believes the Swede didn’t pose much of a threat to the Brit.
“He looked fantastic, congratulations to him. He did his job properly. He was quick and sharp, but on the other side there was no answer. I’ll have an answer for him that will put him in an uncomfortable position. Things are going to change, it’s going to be different. I won’t just stand there and stare at him. I’m going to throw out some bombshells and he’s going to wonder what he’s going to do.”
Francis Ngannou made his professional boxing debut last October, losing a ten round split decision to reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, with a third round knockdown sending “The Gypsy King” to the ground, while Anthony Joshua gave Otto Wallin a telling beating two weeks ago, forcing the Swede’s corner to abandon the fight after the fifth round.
Recall that the ten-round boxing match between Francis Ngannou and Anthony Joshua will take place on March 9 in the Saudi capital Riyadh.
