Alexander Gustafsson is ready to resume his career

Former UFC bantamweight title challenger Alexander Gustafsson has resumed full training and is not ruling out a return to the octagon.

“I’m going to spend more time in the gym, focus on training, and get in shape,” the 36-year-old Swedish fighter told Frontkick Online. “I love this game. I’m excited to get back in the gym and do what I love to do.”

“I’m not thinking about fighting yet, time will tell. If I get an offer, I’ll focus on how I feel and go from there. I’ve been in the UFC since 2009 and I have an active contract with the organization. I’m still in the business. If I fight, it will be in the UFC.”

In July 2022, Alexander Gustafsson returned to the ocagon after a two-year hiatus and suffered another defeat, losing by first-round knockout to Nikita Krylov.

Last November, the welterweight pulled out of his bout with Ovince St. Preux, which was scheduled to take place at UFC 282 in Las Vegas, for an unknown reason and has been out of action for the past two weeks.
