Francis Ngannou reacted to the organization of the fight with Anthony Joshua

Former UFC heavyweight champion, Francis Ngannou, has commented on the news that his next opponent in the ring will be former WBA, WBO and IBF titleholder, Anthony Joshua.

“Taking big steps in the new year. 2024 is going to be fire!”, “The Predator” wrote on social media.

It was officially announced today that the ten-round boxing match between the Cameroonian and the Brit will take place on March 9 in the Saudi capital of Riyadh.

It was originally planned that Anthony Joshua would share the ring with Deontay Wilder on that day, however, two weeks ago the American suffered an unexpected defeat to Joseph Parker, losing to the New Zealander by unanimous decision over twelve rounds, rendering his fight with the Brit irrelevant.

Anthony Joshua gave Otto Wallin an exhibition beating on the same day, forcing the Swede’s corner to abandon the fight after the fifth round.

Francis Ngannou made his professional boxing debut last October, losing by split decision to reigning WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury after ten rounds, with “The Gypsy King” getting knocked out in the third round.
