Justin Gaethje may compete in the UFC 300 tournament

Current BMF titleholder Justin Gaethje will return to the octagon at the UFC 300 anniversary event, and the American’s opponent will be his compatriot Max Holloway, according to former UFC middleweight and bantamweight title challenger Chel Sonnen.

“Gaethje is willing to wait for the Makhachev fight, but there was one guy who challenged him and that’s Max Holloway,” “American Gangster” said on another edition of his podcast. “If we look at the UFC 300 card, I’m going to get ahead of myself and tell you – Justin Gaethje vs. Max Holloway, we’re going to have an announcement coming soon.”

Earlier, Gaethje’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, spoke about the possible organization of the fight.

Justin Gaethje, 35, is riding a two-fight win streak, having won by majority decision over Rafael Fiziev and knocking out Dustin Puryear in a contender’s bout.

Max Holloway, 32, the No. 1 ranked welterweight in the UFC, has also won two straight fights, defeating Arnold Allen by unanimous decision and knocking out Korean Zombie.

As a reminder, the UFC 300 anniversary event will take place April 13 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
