Magomed Ismailov defeated UFC fighter Roman Kopylov

Popular Russian fighter Magomed Ismailov won a jiu-jitsu match over his compatriot Roman Kopylov, who competes in the UFC middleweight division.

The bout, which took place this past weekend at the ACBJJ 15 tournament in St. Petersburg, Russia, went the full distance and ended with “The Bald Predator” winning by a majority of the judges’ votes.

Roman Kopylov, 32, is riding a streak of four wins by knockout in the UFC, but is not yet ranked among the top 15 fighters in the organization’s middleweight division. The Russian does not currently have a fight scheduled, but he expects to return to the octagon early next year.

Magomed Ismailov, 37, made a successful professional boxing debut in March of this year, winning by majority decision over Ivan Shtyrkov at the RCC Boxing tournament in Yekaterinburg, Russia. “Bald Predator” had his last fight in mixed martial arts in December last year at the RCC 13 tournament in Yekaterinburg, defeating Alexander Shlemenko by unanimous decision.
