Former UFC flyweight champion, Peter Yan, is ready to share the octagon with China’s Song Yadong, who challenged him last week.
“Song’s last performance seemed a bit boring, but in principle, it’s an interesting confrontation,” said the Russian, speaking to reporters at the RCC 17 tournament in Yekaterinburg, Russia. “Of course, a lot depends on the UFC matchmaking. If they are interested, we can think about it.”
Yang also confirmed that he would like to fight his next fight at UFC 299 or UFC 300.
“Negotiations are going on right now – roughly it will be next year, March-April. I’d like to go to UFC 299, where Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera will fight for the belt. If not, then UFC 300. Those are the plans for now.”
Peter Yan and Song Yadong are currently ranked fifth and seventh in the UFC’s lightweight division rankings, respectively.
