Colby Covington is ready to take the fight to Sean Strickland

If Colby Covington manages to take the UFC welterweight title away from Leon Edwards this weekend, he’s ready to move up to the middleweight division for a bout with the division’s current champion, Sean Strickland.

“He’s trying to pretend to be what I am, but this guy is a pathetic semblance of a human being, he’s too stupid for that,” “Chaos” told CODE Sports. “I’d like to slap him. He needs to shut his mouth and I’m the guy to do it. The UFC knows I’m the guy who can straighten out those who hate the company and the world, so I’d love to fight Sean Strickland.”

“I’m the best in my division and I’m about to become the welterweight champion of the world, so I want the biggest and best fights the UFC has to offer. It’s a business and they want to make money, which means they need fights that the fans will be excited about. Either way, no matter what the UFC decides, they know I’m a company man and will come out against any opponent they put up against me”

As a reminder, a fight between Leon Edwards and Colby Covington on Dec. 16 will headline UFC 296 in Las Vegas, while Sean Strickland will make his title defense against Dricus Du Plessis on Jan. 20 at UFC 297 in Toronto.
