Johnny Eblin could meet Derek Brunson.

Since the PFL league doesn’t currently have his division, current Bellator middleweight champion, Johnny Eblin, is ready to enter a co-main event and fight former UFC fighter Derek Brunson, who made a successful debut for the organization not too long ago.

“I would love to fight him, a thousand percent,” Eblin told MMA Fighting. “This guy has fought everybody. A UFC veteran coming to the PFL is a great matchup for me.”

Brunson, who plans to be a part of the welterweight grand prix next PFL season, is also ready to fight Eblin in the middleweight division.

“Of course there’s a chance,” Brunson stated. “Johnny Eblin is one of the best, a top fighter. I’ve heard from a lot of people that he dominated Sean Strickland. I know they trained together.”

“We can do it in the PFL. This fight would be a great motivation for me and make me give my best in training camp. I’m confident in my abilities and I know I can get the win.”

In November of this year, 39-year-old Derek Brunson made a successful debut under the PFL banner, defeating Ray Cooper III by unanimous decision, while 31-year-old Johnny Eblin successfully defended his Bellator championship belt in September, knocking out Brit Fabian Edwards in the third round.

The PFL and Bellator co-main event, which will feature a showdown between the two organizations’ champions, will reportedly take place on February 21 in Saudi Arabia.
