Conor McGregor will enter the presidential race

Former double UFC champion, Conor McGregor, has announced his intention to run for the presidency of Ireland in the next election, which will be held in 2025.

“Ireland, meet your new president!” the Irishman wrote on social media. “I’m figuring out my chances. My potential rivals are Gerry Adams, 78; Bertie Ahern, 75; Enda Kenny, 74. Each of them is inextricably linked to their political party, and they don’t care about public opinion outside their party. These parties look after their own interests, not the interests of the people”

“And then there is me. I am 35 years old, young, active, passionate, a new face in the game. I listen, I support, I adapt. I’m not a member of any party, and I have no bias. In running the country, I am willing to have weekly popular votes on issues, and I am willing to fund that. It’s not me who will be in power as President of Ireland, it’s the people”

A few days earlier it was reported that Conor McGregor was under investigation for hate speech in connection with public statements about the recent riots in Dublin, which were caused by an attack on five people, including three children, by a migrant armed with a cold weapon.

Recall that the former UFC champion in two weight categories should resume his fighting career next year, and his opponent will be American Michael Chandler.
