Tom Aspinall was preparing a secret weapon against Sergei Pavlovic.

UFC interim heavyweight champion Tom Aspinall, who knocked out Sergey Pavlovic in 69 seconds at UFC 295 in New York, was prepared to use a secret weapon if his title fight with the Russian moves into the late rounds.

“To be honest, I think I could have gone five rounds,” the Brit said in an interview with Michael Bisping. “I’d be perfectly fine. I don’t want to reveal it now, but I have a secret weapon that only my training partners know about. All I can say is that I’m getting better as the rounds go by. I’m not very good in the beginning, to be honest, but I’m getting better with each successive round.”

“My conditioning is very good – I’m proud of my fitness and how I’ve maintained it all year. I just haven’t had the opportunity to show it to you yet, so it would be a nice surprise for everyone. But if you have the opportunity to get a knockout victory in one minute, obviously you’re going to do it”

Tom Aspinall, 30, has fought eight fights in the UFC, and only once has he had to go to the second round to finish Andrei Orlovsky with a rear-naked choke. His only defeat in the world’s strongest league came last July against Curtis Blades, when he suffered a severe knee injury in the 15th second of the match.
