Dricus Du Plessis left a warning to Khamzat Chimaev

UFC middleweight title challenger, Dricus Du Plessis, is ready to face Khamzat Chimaev after dealing with the division’s current champion, Sean Strickland.

“I think the UFC will want to set up a fight with Hamzat after that,” the South African told My MMA News. “They said he’ll get a title shot if he beats Kamara Usman, and as a champion I’d love to take that boogeyman out – I’d do it with great pleasure. I think that’s what they want to do, but at the moment I have one target and that target is Sean Strickland.”

That said, Du Plessis is confident that Borz will feel the difference between the top fighters in the welterweight and middleweight divisions in a fight with him.

“He’s going to try to move me – that’s what he should do. I don’t think he realizes the difference in power between welterweights and middleweights. His style is based on superior power over his opponents, to whom he shows how strong he is. If he fights me like that, he will know what real power really is”

As a reminder, the middleweight title fight between Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis will be the main event of UFC 297, which takes place on January 20 in Toronto.
