Popular boxing blogger Jake Paul will have his next fight on December 15 in Orlando, and the American’s opponent will be his compatriot Andre August, who has entered the ring thirteen times as a professional.
“I’m a professional boxer and I want to be a world champion, so I need to go for greatness by fighting people who have been boxing their whole lives,” Paul said in a press release. “Up until now, my boxing career has been about selling pay-per-views, but now it’s more than a business. I want to gain experience in confrontations with real fighters, and I’ll come out on Dec. 15 to stake my claim to greatness.”
Jake Paul, 26, put his career back on track this past August with a unanimous decision win over Nate Diaz. Six months prior to that, the youtuber snapped a six-fight winning streak in professional boxing when he lost by split decision to Britain’s Tommy Fury.
Andre August, 35, resumed his career in August after a four-year hiatus, defeating Brandon Martin by unanimous decision. August had previously fought four fights in 2019, winning one fight by knockout and three by unanimous decision. In total, he has ten professional wins, one loss and one draw to his credit.
