UFC commentator and host of one of the most popular podcasts in the world, Joe Rogan, is thrilled with another victory for Islam Makhachev, who knocked out Alexander Volkanovski in the first round last weekend at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.
“Just a shock – who could have seen that coming?” said Rogan on another edition of his podcast. “It was amazing. The shin flew straight into his head, opening up the dissection – it was a perfect execution. Islam showed a lot of new de**k. Front kick, then a body kick and then he translates the same kick to the head. I’m extremely impressed that he won in this way. He showed a lot of progress.”

According to UFC CEO Dana White, the Russian fighter’s next opponent will be Brazilian Charles Oliveira, who suffered a dissection shortly before UFC 294 and dropped out of the event after losing his title shot to the Australian.
