Henry Sejudo had some advice for Paulo Costa on his fight with Khamzat Chimaev

To defeat Khamzat Chimaev, Paulo Costa must surprise his opponent with new tactics and improve technically, former UFC double champion Henry Cejudo believes.

“In terms of tactics, Costa fights everyone the same way,” “The Triple Crown Champion” said on another edition of his podcast. “Overall we know what to expect from him, but he likes to take risks and that can play to his advantage. He’s dangerous and will rely on his striking power. He believes in his hands, but if he gets an opportunity to transfer, he does it. I’m trying to think of fights where he fought differently and nothing comes to mind.”

“Paulo fights the way he fights – he’s beaten great fighters, but he’s also lost to great fighters. If there’s one area where he needs help, it’s his tactics. But tactics depend on technique, so it begs the question – can Paulo add to his technique to become a better fighter tactically? If I were his coaching staff I would think about that first and foremost”

It should be noted that the fight between Chimaev and Costa, which is scheduled to take place on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi, is currently in doubt because three weeks ago the Brazilian underwent surgery on his elbow, which became inflamed due to a staph infection. That said, the former UFC middleweight title challenger maintains that his confrontation with “Borz” remains on the table.
