Tyson Fury would rather fight Jon Jones than Alexander Usik

Reigning WBC heavyweight boxing champion Tyson Fury has no plans to negotiate with Ukrainian Oleksandr Usik, who holds the remaining major titles in the division, after his fight with Francis Ngannou.

According to the Briton, he’s much more interested in facing current UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones, whose boxing skills he plans to test in the ring after he takes on the Cameroonian.

“No, I have no interest in a fight with Usik – he’s a petty Ukrainian bum,” “The Gypsy King” told Mail Sport. “I have no interest in unifying the belts in the division – that de**mo means nothing to me.”

“I’m looking for big fees and Usik doesn’t do well with that. He’s just a foreigner who doesn’t speak English well, so a fight with him just doesn’t sell. I’d rather fight some American. I’ll probably be looking to do a boxing match with Jon Jones.”

As a reminder, a ten-round non-title boxing match between Tyson Fury and Francis Ngannou will take place on October 28 in the Saudi Arabian capital of Riyadh, and on November 11 at UFC 295 in New York City, Jon Jones will make his title defense against former division champion Stipe Miocic, after which he could end his mixed martial arts career.
