Alex Pereira gave his prediction for the Adesanya vs. Strickland fight

Former UFC middleweight champion Alex Pereira, who has early wins over Israel Adesanya and Sean Strickland, shared his opinion on the upcoming title fight headlining UFC 293 in Sydney on Sept. 9.

According to the Brazilian, among all the top middleweight division fighters, the American has the best chance of defeating the Nigerian.

“Adesanya is definitely a strong fighter and it’s a very tough fight for Strickland,” MMAnews quoted Pereira as saying. “But Strickland is at the top of the rankings right now, and among all the tops, he has the best chance of beating Adesanya.”

Pereira also confirmed that he will fight former division champion Jiri Prochazka for the vacant UFC bantamweight championship belt in his next fight.

“I’m definitely going to fight for the belt – it’s a done deal.”

The previous day, UFC president, Dana White, when asked about the Prochazka vs. Pereira fight, said that a title fight would likely be part of the UFC 296 event, which takes place on Dec. 16 in Las Vegas.
