Current UFC flyweight titleholder Sean O’Malley, who knocked out Aljamain Sterling a week ago, has revealed what words Dana White said when he placed the championship belt around his waist.
“He said, ‘Boy, you have no idea how much money you’re going to make!”,” the American told TMZ.
The lightweight title fight, headlined by the UFC 292 event in Boston on Aug. 19, ended at the 0:51 mark of the second round after O’Malley shook his opponent with a right jab before finishing the champion in the parterre.
In his post-fight interview, Sean O’Malley stated that he wanted to make his first defense this December against Marlon Vera, who had handed him the only defeat of his career three years earlier, finishing by technical knockout in the first round.
If O’Malley’s plan comes to fruition, his fight with the Ecuadorian could take place on December 16 at UFC 296 in Las Vegas.
