Muhammad Mokaev flew to Russia to train

The eleventh number of the UFC flyweight division, Muhammad Mokaev, who three months ago demanded that his name in the strongest league in the world not be associated with Russia, arrived at a training camp in Dagestan.

“Last year I had a training camp here for the second fight in the UFC, I really liked it – now I’m preparing for the fifth, and I don’t want to change anything,” said the 22-year-old British fighter, who trains in the wrestling gym of the Dynamo club in Makhachkala. “I love competition, I love someone to beat me in the gym. I am not looking for easy ways. Today I lost to high-level guys – tomorrow I will have the motivation to come to training”

Mokaev also shared his impressions of visiting the Russian Wrestling Championship, where he met with the legends of Russian sports Abdulrashid Sadulaev and Buvaisar Saitiev.

“Buvaysar Saitiev gave good advice – do not be distracted by hype, train in the gym as well, go out constantly hungry. As I understand it, he is watching me, and hearing advice from such a person is very nice.”

According to Mokaev, who won four victories in the strongest league in the world, he will hold his next fight on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.

“I have a fight in Abu Dhabi in October. Now I am holding a training camp in Makhachkala – the first stage is my physical training and wrestling. At the end of July I will go to the mountains, I will hold a training camp there. Then I will return to Makhachkala, go through acclimatization, and fly to Bahrain, continue training there. And ten days before the fight, I will fly to Abu Dhabi.”

The fighter confirmed that American Tim Elliott, who had previously publicly agreed to fight with him, would become his opponent.

“I can’t name the opponent, but I think many will guess – he won the TUF and was a contender for the belt”
