Damir Ismagulov appointed another fight in the UFC

Four months after the announcement of the end of his professional career, Damir Ismagulov was assigned another fight in the UFC.

Informed sources close to the situation report that the 32-year-old Russian lightweight will return to the octagon on July 1 at UFC on ESPN 48 in Las Vegas, and 29-year-old American Grant Dawson will become his opponent.

In December last year, Damir Ismagulov suffered his first defeat under the UFC banner, losing by unanimous decision to his compatriot Arman Tsarukyan. Prior to this, the former M-1 Challenge champion won five fights in the strongest league in the world, defeating all opponents by decisions.

Grant Dawson is undefeated in the UFC, and after a draw with Rick Glenn in October 2021, he scored two stoppage victories in the organization, finishing with rear naked choke Jared Gordon and Mark Madsen.

Damir Ismagulov and Grant Dawson are currently ranked twelfth and fifteenth in the UFC lightweight rankings, respectively.
