Dana White: “We have several options for Khamzat Chimaev”

Dana White:

UFC president Dana White has shied away from a direct answer to the question of whether former UFC middleweight title contender Paulo Costa will be Khamzat Chimaev’s next opponent.

“We have several options for Khamzat, but I don’t like the fight with Usman, and I told Usman that,” the head of the organization said in an interview with The Schmo. “I don’t do catchweight fights because they don’t mean anything and there’s nothing interesting or intriguing about them. Such a fight does not give anything to the one who won. As for Paulo Costa, I don’t know what’s going on with him at the moment, but we’re going to find out soon.”

Kamaru Usman announced his desire to share the octagon with Borz a few days ago, and Paulo Costa claims that his fight with Khamzat Chimaev is in development and could take place on October 21 at UFC 294 in Abu Dhabi.

Undefeated Khamzat Chimaev won his sixth UFC win last September, finishing with a first-round choke over Kevin Holland.
