ONE Championship President Chatri Sityodtong voiced Francis Ngannou’s demands that forced him to refuse further negotiations with the former UFC heavyweight champion.
“He demanded a seat on the board of directors and the right to determine the fee of his rival,” the head of the league told the Daily Star. “We offered him a guaranteed $20 million, but he decided that the money was not enough and put forward non-financial conditions that did not make sense. Obviously, we couldn’t give him a seat on the board of directors, it didn’t make any sense. In this position, he would be like a fish on dry land.”
According to Francis Ngannou, previously voiced by sportswriter Ariel Helwani, he turned down the ONE Championship offer because he had already given his verbal consent to the PFL. According to the journalist, the Predator’s contract with the PFL could be signed as early as this week.
