Tom Aspinall could headline UFC London

UFC heavyweight division No. 5 Tom Aspinall, who has made a full recovery from knee surgery, could headline the organization’s next UK event on July 22 in London.

This 30-year-old Englishman said in an interview with his compatriot Michael Bisping.

“At the moment I’m just waiting,” Aspinall stated. “I would like to say that I have a fight, but I would be lying. I have been told that I will be fighting on July 22nd at a show in London and I am just waiting for official confirmation. Nothing has been officially confirmed yet, but I’m ready to return. My body and mind are in perfect order – in fact, even better than ever. I’m just waiting to be called an opponent”

The British heavyweight won five early victories in the UFC, including dealing with Andrey Orlovsky, Sergey Spivak and Alexander Volkov, but in July last year, already at the 15th second of the first round, he suffered a knee injury and was forced to refuse to continue the fight against Curtis Blades.

The most likely candidates for a fight with the Briton are Frenchman Cyril Gan and Australian Tai Tuivasa, who occupy the first and sixth lines in the heavyweight division ranking, respectively, however, a revenge with Blades, who is in fourth position in the top ten, is also not excluded.
