Russian heavyweight Alexei Oleinik, who left the UFC roster last October, will fight his next fight on May 26 in Moscow as part of the next REN TV Fight Club tournament.
The opponent of the 45-year-old Russian in a duel according to the rules of MMA will be the 43-year-old Briton Oli Thompson, who once played in such organizations as KSW, UFC and Bellator.
“Yes, I will fight with Thompson. They offered good conditions in Russia. No worse than in the UFC. We decided that we can speak, ”the REN TV press service quotes Oleinik.
Alexey Oleinik had his last fight in the UFC in October last year, losing by unanimous decision to Ilir Latifi. Six months earlier, the Boa had put his career back on track after three losses in a row, finishing with Jared Vanderaa’s choke. The fight with Latifi was the last under the current contract of the Russian with the strongest league in the world.
Oli Thompson is on a four-fight streak, one of which he suffered against Sergei Kharitonov at the Parus Fight Championship in Dubai.
