UFC president doesn't believe in Adesanya-Pereira's third fight

UFC president Dana White doesn’t think Israel Adesanya and Alex Pereira will split the octagon for a third after recording one stoppage victory over each other.

“Honestly, I think Pereira will move up to light heavyweight after this fight,” the head of the organization said at a press conference after the UFC 287 tournament. “He is a monster, and I know he had two extra pounds left an hour before the weigh-in that he needed to drive away. I am not saying that he will move up to light heavyweight, but I assume that he will – you can ask him yourself, but this will not come as a surprise to me.

White also paid tribute to Adesanya, who knocked out Pereira in the second round and regained the UFC middleweight championship belt.

“Israel Adesanya is a unique guy, and today he showed how strong he is psychologically. He believed in himself, wanted to test himself in an immediate rematch against the guy who beat him three times, and today he came out and knocked him out tightly. It was amazing”

Recall that in November last year, Alex Pereira took away the UFC title from Israel Adesanya, winning the fight by technical knockout in the fifth round, and before that he twice defeated the Nigerian in kickboxing.
