Colby Covington wants to fight Jon Jones at UFC 290

UFC welterweight contender Colby Covington would not mind if his fight against Leon Edwards takes place in the same event where his former college friend Jon Jones defends his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic.

“International Fight Week is the biggest stage and they’re talking about Jon Jones vs Stipe Miocic – who wouldn’t want to see me on stage with my old buddy John?” Chaos told MMA Fighting. “Do you have any idea how much fun we will have at the press conference? It’s perfect and it’s money”

“The UFC knows how cool I am, so they can trust me with anything – the co-main event, the main event. I am the perfect businessman. I go to fights, I do weight, and I don’t fail the weight race like the dog-faced gremlin Chimaev. If necessary, I will make a champion weight on the day’s notice – 18 pounds off with no excuses.

“I’ll be ready. If they want me to be the second biggest event at UFC 290, I will be. Anything. April, May, June, July, August, whatever the UFC wants. I’ll leave it up to the big bosses, because the decision is theirs. No one else makes the decisions—not Leon, not the female journalists, not the whining fans. If you ask me how I’m doing, I’ll tell you that it’s just great, because all my haters are unhappy now.

Recall that the UFC 290 tournament, which this year will complete the International Fight Week, will be held on July 8 in Las Vegas.
