Colby Covington’s final piece of advice for Leon Edwards

Colby Covington's final piece of advice for Leon Edwards

By refusing to fight him, reigning UFC welterweight champion Leon Edwards is at risk of being left without a title, division number two Colby Covington, named the official contender for the championship belt, is sure.

“That’s the only advice I’ll give him before kicking his ass,” Chaos told MMA Fighting. “As they say, shut up and listen carefully. Open your stupid ears and listen to my advice, Leon, because he will be the only one: do not argue with your boss, otherwise you will have to learn the hard way. Remember, Leon is my only advice. Do not try to argue with your leadership!

“If he doesn’t accept the fight, he will be stripped of the belt. The most profitable fighter in the division is me, not him, so he will be easily relieved of the title. Leon has neither personality nor charisma. It’s the same with Marty, who needs a belt to stay relevant. Now Leon is acting like he’s Conor McGregor, but he’s not even close to being Conor. You can’t pick your fights, man, because you’re nobody!”

UFC President Dana White has named Colby Covington as the next contender for the UFC welterweight championship after Leon Edwards successfully defended his title in a rematch with Kamaru Usman at UFC 286 in London by defeating the Nigerian by a majority vote.
