The current UFC middleweight champion, Alex Pereira, shared his opinion on the upcoming fight between Jon Jones and Cyril Gun, which will be contested for the vacant UFC heavyweight title.
“I think Jones will really dominate the heavyweight division,” the Brazilian told MMA Fighting. “The fight with Gan is much more difficult for him than with Ngannou. Ngannou is more powerful and would like to cut with John Jones, but Jones is very experienced, he has a great defense and I think he would beat Francis with ease.
“The fight with Cyril is much more difficult for him, but I still believe that he will win. It’s a tougher fight because Gan is a smart and careful fighter – he won’t fight Jones and it will be more of a challenge for him, but I think Jones can handle it.”
The heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Cyril Gan will headline UFC 285 on March 4 in Las Vegas.
