Apparently, the next opponent of British ex-world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua (24-3, 22 KOs) will indeed be American Jermaine Franklin (21-1, 14 KOs).
That’s the conclusion that suggests itself, judging by the way Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn defends Jermaine’s candidacy.
“I think the fight with Jermain Franklin is a great option. And although nothing has been signed yet, I do not understand the wave of criticism. He (Joshua) fought Oleksandr Usyk twice in a row. I don’t understand what else people want from a return under a new coach, ”Hearn was surprised.
Recall that Joshua’s fight is scheduled for April 1 in London (England), and he will enter the ring after two defeats from Usyk. Franklin also lost his last bout, losing competitively on points to Dillian Whyte in November.
The other day, Jermain turned to his potential opponent through social networks: “I’m ready. It’s time to give the fans what they want. Two great fighters who, above all, care about the interests of the fans. And it’s also a UK vs USA confrontation.”
